This Sunday we celebrate the birthday of Thomas Paine, the English-American political activist, philosopher, revolutionary, and the Forgotten Founding Father.
A few of Mr. Paine’s achievements:
- Wrote three of the biggest bestsellers of the 18th century.
- Transformed colonial rebellion into the American Revolution with his book Common Sense.
- Penned the crucial articles that changed the course of the war.
- One of the first to write impassioned articles against slavery and the oppression of women.
