News: International Speech Contest on March 1, 2015

The annual International Speech Contest, as well as the Table Topics Contest, will be held during the time of our regularly scheduled meeting on Sunday, March 1, at 9:00 a.m.

Every year, all Toastmaster speech contests, such as the Evaluation, Tall Tales, Humorous, and Table Topics, begin at the club level and culminate at the District Conference. The International Speech Contest is the only Toastmaster speech contest that proceeds past the District level and continues at the International Convention where the winner is awarded the title “World Champion of Public Speaking.” It is truly an international affair as competitors from Toastmasters clubs from all over the world enter this contest.

As you know, our Lance Miller was the 2005 World Champion of Public Speaking. And Lance began that journey at our club contest in February 2005. This is your chance to witness the start of our next winner’s quest to reach Las Vegas, NV, the site of the 2015 International Speech Contest finals!

And you won’t want to miss the Table Topics contest which will challenge the best of our impromptu speakers to come up with the best answer to the secret question.

Make your plans to be at Renaissance Speakers on Sunday morning, March 1! Seats are limited!
